About the author
Stefan Zweig war ein österreichischer Schriftsteller. Er wurde am 28. November 1881 in Wien als Sohn eines Textilunternehmerehepaares geboren. 1934 emigrierte er nach London, nahm 5 Jahre später auch die britische Staatsbürgerschaft an. Im Jahr 1940 reiste er dann weiter und fand nach mehreren Stationen in Brasilien seine neue Heimat. Hier nahm er sich am 23. Februar 1942 gemeinsam mit seiner zweiten Frau das Leben.
