About this ebook

One of the most controversial and talked-about novels of all time. Bret Easton Ellis’s American Psycho is a multi-million-copy bestseller hailed as a modern classic – a violent and outrageous black comedy about the darkest side of human nature.

With an introduction by Irvine Welsh, author of Trainspotting.

I like to dissect girls. Did you know I’m utterly insane?

Patrick Bateman has it all: good looks, youth, charm, a job on Wall Street, and reservations at every new restaurant in town.

He is also a psychopath. A man addicted to his superficial, perfect life, he pulls us into a dark underworld where the American Dream becomes a nightmare . . .

Part of the Picador Collection, a series showcasing the best of modern literature.

I read this in my late teens early 20s and it was a pretty graphic read. I think got at airport on way to hols and didn't put down. I think it was the book I lent to the most to friends at any time, a few different reactions to say least. I didn't really enjoy anything else by Brett EE

Considering this book can be very boring in some chapters, I read this in a day and couldnt put it down until i finished it. Some scenes are very graphic and horrible and I actually wanted patrick to be caught by the police but he doesnt and the author finishs the book with 'this is not an exit' which gives me the creeps when I think patrick gets away with everthing and those graphic images are going to stay in my mind forever! I will never read this book again but I do rate it 5 stars.

Completely gripping have read this book in 9 days whenever I could read I could. Felt sick at times during torture parts but that shows how amazingly well this book is written! A must read, but not whilst having dinner.
