About the author
*잭 런던(Jack London)(1876~1916) 미국 소설가, 운동가 상업 소설과 미국 잡지의 선구자였던 그는 글을 통해 국제적인 유명인이 되고 큰 부를 얻은 최초의 미국 작가 중 한 명이다. 훗날 공상 과학 소설로 알려지게 된 장르의 혁신가였다. 샌프란시스코의 급진적 문학 단체 「The Crowd」의 일원으로 동물 복지, 노동자 권리, 사회주의를 열정적으로 옹호했다. 유명한 작품으로는 클론다이크 골드러시 시대의 알래스카와 유콘을 배경으로 한 『The Call of the Wild』와 『White Fang』을 등 다수가 있다.
