I just subscribed to the premium plan which included no ads, and I'm still getting bombarded with ads. At the moment it appears that I am able to make and receive calls, as well as SMS texting, but because of the continuous ads, I'm also unable to determine whether or now my phone number is secure. It wasn't the reaction I was hoping for, especially with the ads. :-(

This is a low rating despite the stellar service. Let me explain. Text Me is an easy service to sign up for, with free high quality calls and texts. Everything you would want from a service like this. However the app is abysmally slow and stutters constantly. 50% to 70% of screen space is ads leaving a small window to navigate. Video ads are long and frequent. It logs you out making it inconsistent or useless for incoming calls though it's so slow, I've never been able to answer a call in time.

Updated review: Originally it was brilliant, but I had only tried to call my own number etc. Now all my calls are missed, they just show up five mins or sometimes later as 'missed calls' & I have to ring them back which is not great cause I'm trying to use this as a work line and it seems that I'm never around. When the app is open/the screen is on, it seems to work as I phone myself and its fine but if my phone is locked I'll get a message saying I missed a call! Highly annoying but the fact that it's free means I'll take a little longer to find another app. If this isn't an issue for you, then the good points are you can watch ads for credits, the call quality is dependent on your internet (obviously), and hasn't thrown too many surprises there. The voicemail is a nice touch, texting works well & they do keep you reminded of when you might lose you're number! Unfortunately I really need my calls to come through at the time and not as missed ones.
