I enjoyed this game a lot but would have preferred if there were fewer chapters to play or if it was just one continuous game and all that would be needed would be a screen with a title to break the story up as you play. Apart from that, I think the game, concept and graphics were great and the story was very original. I do admit to looking up a walk-through for one hint and found I had missed something I should have picked up but failed to notice. I can't wait to play Dexter Stardust 2!

Mandy, thank you for playing Dexter Stardust. If you turn on the director's commentary I talk about why the game was broken up into episodes and how this decision was made late into the development of the game. There are various factors that led to that decision. Dexter 2 is being worked on, and should be released Q4 2024. - Jeremy

I'm a huge fan of point and click games especially anything in a Monkey Island style...this is great. A nice back story/narrative which doesn't overtake the gameplay too much. Marvellous visuals and design. The puzzles are just right in terms of difficulty (for me anyway...). Only thing i wasn't sure about was how the game was split up into mini chapters...And each time you began a new one the whole title sequence began again... Apart from that minor niggle a brilliant adventure! Dex 2?

Thanks for playing! Yeah, the idea was that each episode feels like you are playing a Saturday morning cartoon, which always have the same intro before each episode. As for Dexter Stardust 2, I'm working hard on it, but it'll be a while. In the meantime, you can pre-order "The Abandoned Planet", the second game in the Dexter-Universe! - Jeremy

When they say 'classic point and click' they mean it! The references to Monkey Island are everywhere from actual in game references ("I'm selling these fine...") to the faux-reggae music and even Dexter's Voice which is about as close to Mr Threepwood's as you can get. That together with the Futurama vibe and themes and you can't really go wrong. It's not as polished as MI but that's hardly surprising for an Indy production, but it's funny, puzzles are good and it's full of nostalgia! 4.5*

Simon, thanks for playing my game! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed all the references and nods to the classics. I just published another game called "The Abandoned Planet", which is in the same connected Dexter-Universe. It has more of a Myst-like style of gameplay. Check it out if you get a chance! - Jeremy
